Cardiff Airport – Calling All Passengers

Cardiff Airport was looking to promote and address the lack of awareness of their airlines and routes available to customers.

By focusing on their 50+ destinations and routes by Flybe, Vueling, KLM, and TUI, our team at Atticus Digital was able to create a number of animated stings for sponsored ITV Cymru Wales weather bulletins, presenting the various destinations that connected Cardiff Airport to the world.

 

This project used Cardiff Airport’s communication channels and external media outlets to target the appropriate audiences. The ads are running for 12 months showcasing the convenience, accessibility, and ease of use for Cardiff Airport. They depict the breadth of all the destinations on offer, supporting specific airlines and routes, integrating with Cardiff Airport’s pre-existing concepts across onsite and online channels. 

 

Outcome

Each sting resembles a departure board, with animated lettering to mimic this appearance. The flap display runs through letters settling on a phrase specific to the destination. ‘It’s a balmy day…’ the animated flaps change to a background image of the destination ‘...in Dubai.’  The change and flip of destinations imply that wherever the good weather is, it is only a flight away.
