Cardiff Business Awards

Atticus is delighted to be one of the finalists for Creative and Digital Business of the Year for the Cardiff Business Awards 2017. The award acknowledges Cardiff businesses that work in the creative and digital sector. The finalists are judged on achieved growth and financial performances, demonstrated through customer service and future business success.

One of the highlights of 2016 for Atticus Digital was delivering the world’s first live 360° press conferences with Team GB Olympic athletes. Journalists were virtually transported from London to Rio de Janeiro using Samsung Gear VR headsets. This enabled them to look around the British House and speak with athletes live, such as Helen Glover, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Becky James and Sir Steve Redgrave.

2016 was an exceptional year for Atticus with our turnover increasing by over 80%, with a returning profit of 20%.

Atticus produced multiple virtual reality projects for high profile clients in 2016, including Adidas, BBC, Bloomberg, EDF Energy, Samsung, SAP, Shell, Symantec, Visit Wales, and Welsh Water.

Atticus is investing in new technology and is recruiting in order to satisfy demand from new business opportunities. We are committed to enhancing staff skills and have several new training courses in place. We continue to devote time to R&D in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Throughout 2017 we will be developing our own IP for virtual reality programmes. We already have a joint patent with an engineering company for a quantitative real-time training simulation for hazard awareness in the oil & gas industry.

Having worked for companies in Australia and the USA, Atticus is seeking new market opportunities in the Far East and was recently selected by the EU to represent Europe as one of 50 companies for an ICT trade mission to Singapore and Thailand.
